26 Apr 2011 KRONOSPAN EMPLOYEES ARE LONDON MARATHON RUNNERS
Chirk based wood panel manufacturer Kronospan has sponsored two of its employees who are taking part in one of the biggest running events in the world - the London Marathon.
Jason Dwan Kronospan Manufacturing Manager and David Philips Kronospan Production Operator are counting down the hours to go before setting off on the testing 26.2 miles that is the London Marathon this weekend. (Sunday April 17th 2011)
Jason will be raising money for Antenatal Results and Choices which is a small charity that supports expectant and bereaved parents throughout the antenatal testing and screening process. Jason said, "I am hoping to increase awareness of this wonderful charity and raise as much money as possible. My wife and i have had personal experience of the excellent work they do, and i would like to give something back to them". David Phillips is raising funds for Arthritis Research UK which is a charity which aims to take the pain of arthritis away and keep people active.
Mike McKenna Kronospan Chairman said, "The London Marathon is a great way to raise money for the fantastic work done by so many charities and i am delighted that Jason and David are taking part. They both deserve our sponsorship and congratulations must go to them for all their efforts."
The London Marathon has raised over £450 million pounds since it first started. A huge turnout is expected on Sunday to encourage Jason and David, as well as the other 30,000 runners!
